  • HELP! Jumped Battery Caused window problem!?

Like an idiot I sat in the car listening to the radio without the engine running. The battery died and I had to jump the car. Immediately after I noticed a window problem.

Do you notice how your window automatically goes down about 1/4" when you open the door? Then after you close the door the window goes back up? After the battery jump my window drops about 3" when I open the door and will not go back up at all on its own. If I use the interior switch the window will go all the way up.....not possible when you get out of the car to go to the store. The same thing happens on the passenger side.

I let the car run after the jump for 4 hours and drove it around a bit to recharge the battery - still have this window problem.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is?

    Reset the window indexing

Roll window all the way up
Hold 'up' for 2 secs (there's a click)
Roll window all the way down
    Hold 'down' for 2 secs

Should fix the problem. BTW, the windows need to be reset like that whenever the battery is disconnected. Had to do it when I put in my intake

i thought it was the opposite way
all the way down then all the way up?

Remember if "the" and "and" are spelled right its not a genuine Ahuhn post

Nope, it's up and then down. At least that's what it says in some little magazine Pontiac sent me. I've never actually had to use it though.

I've reset indexing both ways. Doesn't seem to matter.
