Hello all,
I've been doing some searching on rotor & brake pad replacements on these forums but I haven't stumbled across any "How To" on installing rotors & brake pads on the G6. I've installed brake pads before on previous cars, I'm just wondering if there is anything different to do on the G6? I've read that there is some "special tool" required for the rear disc brakes.... what the heck is that? lol... anyhow, I'll give a quick rundown on the installation process... let me know if I'm missing anything.
Front Wheels:
1) Loosten lug nuts on wheel
2) Prop up wheel and remove
3) Remove the 2 bolts holding the caliper together
4) Remove caliper
5) Remove worn out brake pads
6) Install new pads (do our calipers require a c-clamp to push down on the brake piston? If not, do new brake pads slide in nicely on the G6 without having to compress with a c-clamp?)
7) Unscrew old rotor
Remove old rotor
9) Attach new rotor
10) Screw on new rotor
11) Reattach caliper
12) Reattach wheel
13) Done!?
Rear wheel:
Same as above... anything different regarding the "special tool" I've been hearing about?
Thanks guys!
