  • Vector heat soak kit review

    Brand: GM/ Vector
    Price: $100
    Purchased From: Vector Motorsports

Installation: The guy installed it in like 5 mins....he just drilled a small hole for the sensor in the bottom of my aftermarket intake filter and stuck it in and then connected the new housing into the existing plug and the existing wiring into the new harness. I have yet to measure the hole for the sensor

    Installation Time: 5-7 minutes
    Any Installation Tips You Have:

    Quality of Part: 10
    Product Performance: 10
Would you Recommend to Others: Absolutely

I got this yesterday and it was well worth the 100 bucks and driving down there. It was 92 degrees out and i was sitting at lights on m59 forever cus there was no power and everyone had to stop 1000 times....no bogging at all and power when i ask for it.

    Any Other Comments:

I know but theres no power at my house and im on the internet at work but ill have a pic eventually i promise.

    good service good product

Thanks for the info. You did clear up somethings for me. My sensor is somewhere in the mid- west right now but on it's way.

so it puts it before the maf...neat idea

but if the sensor is still in the maf, wouldnt it read both sensors at the same time?

I would guess the stock wire to the MAF would be negated by the aftermarket wiring harness, so only one signal is actually sent back to the ECU

Yes, thats how I understand it too. It cuts out the MAF IAT sensor to just run the new IAT sensor

I installed this and really noticed a difference in MPG and driving through the damn DC metropolitan area. It arrived at my house quick and an easy install.

Has anyone with a stock air box installed this kit? If so, where was the new IAT sensor installed? Pics?
                        Thanks.

I dont understand this mod....can someone explain?
I see the install and understand that and the movement of the wire forward but
I dont see how that would make a any difference.

the vector IAT sensor adjusts to incoming air temp much, much faster than stock. Whereas the stock IAT sensor was more like "what was the IAT 30minutes ago" the vector IAT sensor is like "whats the IAT right freakin now!".
