  • Break Callapers

Would I be better off buying New Red break callapers or should i just paint the ones I have now? If you think I should go new where can I get good quality Callapers. If I should stay old does anyone have any sugestions on painting them. Bad/Good experience?

Just paint them instead of buying new ones. As long as you remove all the dirt and and degrease them the paint will stick fine and will last. Just use some quality enamel paint. Taking them off would be easiest but I know some on here just taped off the area and sprayed them. It would be best to take the whole unit apart if you are comfortable doing that.

In the past, I just masked off mine and painted them on the car. I don't enter my car into shows or anything like that, who would ever see the back of them anyway?

      And its spelled caliper.

Well does anyone know off the top of there head what kind of "Brake Caliper" my G6 GT came with... cause I remember reading somewhere that racing ones would be better because they cool faster and they can take the heat... I’m not saying I race it I have only once and it was a Grand Prix blew the doors off it by the way well anyway I’m just worried about when I do get going that fast how much heat they can take and I will they stall or anything like that?

Calipers wouldn't really matter too much (on a stock G6 anyway) but dual piston caliper would be nice. Better pads, and some slotted or drilled rotors would do fine for most any kind of braking you'd need.

Don't forget to cross drill your brake lines!

                              Rotors, you mean.

Apparently there is 1 set of cross drilled or slotted rotors available for the G6 right now.
