  • 06 Maxx SS vs 07 Charger SXT

My roommate is buying a 07 Charger SXT in a few weeks, when he gets back from holidays. Needless to say he and I will need to do a little "comparative driving" :Ray: :Ray: Any ideas who will reign supreme?? I drive an 06 Malibu Maxx SS, its essentially stock, just a few little things to help it breath better. He is buying an SXT, as I said, with the 3.5L.
I just see this becoming a money wastathon, to see who will can beat who. He looking at either a magnaflow, or a Borla exhaust set up, K&N intake obviously....
Anyway let me know what you guys think!!

Re: 06 Maxx SS vs 07 Charger SXT

hmm, well the maxx SS has a 240hp v6 and 4spd but the charger SXT has a 250hp v6 and 5spd auto. Although the charger SXT does wiegh quite a bit. I don't have any performance numbers unfortunately for the charger v6 models. I do have some for the maxx ss though.
give me a couple minutes and I'll post them.

Re: 06 Maxx SS vs 07 Charger SXT

if i'm correct, the charger weighs around 3900lbs right? i just went up against an STS that weighs the same, but has a 310hp V8, granted he had 3 other people in there, but it was pretty much even. with 60 less hp and that much less torque, i'm sure you'd have no problem, if not be even :P

        Charger lb/hp ratio: 15.5

Re: 06 Maxx SS vs 07 Charger SXT

well I wasn't able to find any info on what the 3.5 v6 charger can run, but I did see some for the chrsyler 300 touring with the 3.5v6 250hp and a 4spd auto though, the charger has 5spd auto if I remember right.

          300 touring- 0-60mph in 7.3 secs and 1/4 mile in 15.5-15.3 secs.

i think your maxx SS should have no problem... 250hp to a 4100 pound body doesnt do the v6 charger much justice...
