  • Exhaust diameter

This has probably already been stated, but just checking. The diameter of the tailpipe is 2.25". Is the rest of the system 2.25? (I want to replace the exhaust resonator with the Magnaflow Round 4" muffler (PN 10435 or 10436). I'm thinking I should go 2.5 (10436) for better flow. Also, has anyone done this mod to their exhaust (and kept the rest of the system stock) and is there much of a difference in sound?

    Thanks

I would replace the whole thing cuz it gets squose down under 2 inches at several points in this system. You might as well just get it done right.

Well, the fiancee shot down the dual exhaust idea, so I just ordered the 4" round 2.5 dia. Magnaflow and hope she doesn't notice a big difference in sound...as long as I stay off the gas

Well you are going to change the tip and replace the res with the magna flow right? There will be a difference in sound but not really in performance. You honestly should just hold off and save up and get a dual kit. Like for a b day present to yourself. Samn women. I don't give a damn what they say. It is my money and I will spend it how I want. I wish I'm just hoping to run at least a 15.999 or 85.000+ mph trap speed. If this doesn't get me there, computer tuning down the road will

                  Ahhhh cmon

They seem to be in the 16 range so I'm sure you could manage that if you know how to drive. No mean to insult you, but you know what I mean if you take it to the track.

Yeah, hopefully I can ge that. The last 2 autos I've had, I reached the numbers I wanted, but not with my '04 GTO I just traded in (6 speed). Best I could run was a 14.422 @ 98.25, but it would walk all over my friend's '98 Vette (auto, 2.73's, 13.6 at the track) from a roll on the highway. My stock 2000 Z-28, auto, 3.23 gears ran a 13.92 @ 103.21. I can't launch a stick worth a crap...good thing this one's an auto!

I did it but with the 6" Magnaflow instead of the 4".
                      Pipe is 2.5"

With the new cold air box it sounds AWESOME!!

I added the strut bar today.
