  • Motor Mount Inserts

Does Any body have access to a gm parts catalog. I'm looking into making some inserts but would like to know ahead of time what mounts fit what, rather than just buying them all. gmpartsdirect says 3.5 and 3.9 for 07 are the same but does not output the number so I can reference it. any help would be appreciated.

looking mainly into the 2 torque mounts ( front and rear lower)

      Re: Motor Mount Inserts

well I already make both so the nissan crowd, so it wouldn't be to hard at all. Both would just need some time. Just need to know the different mount configurations AT, MT 3.5, 3.6, 3.9 etc. besides the inserts would require a little bit more testing than the bar will. If they are too hard, most people won't like them cause of the vibrations, even if they do perform well. I'll still start the strut bar first.

            Re: Motor Mount Inserts

about the best thing it does is eliminate torque steer, and for the f40's it stops the motor from hopping around like it does now.

                    Re: Motor Mount Inserts

They didn't use the motor mounts it was the little shock absorber. And I remember it started breaking the mount it was on.

                      Re: Motor Mount Inserts

inserts will have the same effect as that shock thing except that they will also re-enforce the stock mount so it will never break.

Thanks taz. I've never had wheel hop but the other 2 I would love to improve. I'd interested in this along with a strut bar.

                          Very interested here!

doesn't it put a little more hp to the ground too since there is less movement?

they make better use of available hp. they don't create it. just like pulleys.....they don't make any power at all, they just "free up" hp that was wasted.
