Elements such as the shape of the greenhouse, the rounded shape on the rear of the car and the round air outlets have been retained, although the two center vents in the center of the dash on the original TT are now replaced with three.
The wide, low, aggressive stance of the Audi Shooting Brake Concept from the Tokyo Motor Show has been carried over to the new TT, and the sharp, prominent front-end styling of the Concept is also used to add dramatic flare. The new TT coupe is as distinctive as the original, but in an updated manner consistent with other more recent Audi designs—yet the TT is easily identifiable.
