    i have the 07 base with the 2.4L, my question is that why do my rpms only go up to 4000 when i rev my engine? is there a chip?

    rev limiter...so you dont make it go POP

          the car has a rev limiter on it. you need a computer swap out but im not sure if there is one for a 2.4L 6.

                    Get vector's Tune and it will raise it. Mine seems to have raise it to 5,500rpm

                      is it really that bad for it to rev that high in neutral?

                            The idle rev, and the rev limiter are different.
                            No good reason to increase the rpm's without a load.
