How to remove MAF?

Good Morning all,

This is going to sound like a strange question, but the 2 screws that hold the MAF to the air box, they look like a torks bit but they have a strange nub in the centre so a normal torks won't fit. How do you get them out?

I just used an allen wrench set I had laying around (dont remember the size)

I believe the size is 5/32"

Took a while to find this thread by searching LOL

i had the same question, guess ill check auto zone for the 5/32 with the hole in the middle.

Is this another feature that only lucky 05's have?

I just never read anything about this in the 100+ plus pages of intake question/answers.

Mine are just regular torques.

They do make a bit for this. I just can't remember where I got one or where it is now to look at it. Mine are normal Torx anyway.

I used a dremel and cut the screw off.

Torx wouldnt work on mine.

Guess some got it and some didnt.

Go to install the new intake I got, stopped dead in my tracks by the stupid security torx. Oh well, just another item to add to the growing tool collection!

Its called an interference torx screw iirc

I just used a small flat head screw driver and broke the center peice off and the used a regular torxs lol

Security Torx, I ran to Harbor Freight and bought a 100 piece torx set for 9 dollars!
