  • Leather dye?

I have a white gt w/ black leather interior and had the idea to dye the inserts white (like the gtp seats). Has anyone here used such a product and does it hold up well or will I be re-dying every few months? It can be brushed on so it should be fairly easy I just wonder if it will last.

I doubt if you can go from Black to white. Easier the other way around, but I've seen some dye jobs and I never liked them.

yeah dying black leather to white would be a hell of a task and I seriously doubt the white would hold up to the black!

You'd have to use leather bleach, not dye.

I don't think it would turn out well. But, you never know until you try!

I don't even know if I would try, screw your seats up then you'll be in a world of hurt-especially to the pocket book....

Check into SEM leather dye/spray. I've used it MANY times on my vehicle restorations.

Make sure you use a good coat of primer or some Kilz 1st.
Just kidding. I don't think I'd try it.

I agree.. it would look good but might want to look into just having new inserts put in only becase if you mess up and have to do it anyways your more in the hole. That way its done right the first time

I agree ^^ find an upholstery shop and see how much they would charge you to do something like that. It would be worth the price and definitely significantly cheaper than buying new seats.
