  • SERIOUS PROBLEMS! Need help, alot. UPDATED: Fixed

Ok, so basically my car has gone to hell! My taillights arent working, brake lights do, but not taillights. My lower half of my dash lighting doesnt work (AC controls, buttons by the foglights ect) My windows will index but not return to normal, wtf is going on with my car?! I got pulled over cuz I was driving with no lights on. First they thought I was drunk so I had two cops anyway, my date was freakin the fuck out, nothing went well. HELP PLEASE!!

Now I gotta take it to the dealer if I cant fix it. They arent open until Monday. I have no ride to work. AHHH!

That sounds bad. I would certainly check all the fuses. There seem to be plenty, get your owners manual out and it will help you locate them all. It is pretty simple. Just pull each one out and look at it. Yu will be able to see if one looks different, replace that one and try it out.

Sounds like a relay not any fuse. A fuse would only affect one area not several like lights and AC. Check your relays under the hood and make sure there all in tight and didnt viberate lose. It has to be easy thing. If all relays are tight and ok, then try pulling each fuse one by one. But try the relays under the hood first then move to your fuse panel on the passanger side in the cabon on the floor in the middle consol if you dont know where its at

Look under your hood. The relays are the bigger plug in
modules by your fuses. It will have a cover to it. Pass side.
It will look like this when uncovered. Disregard my hen scratch...thats from a previous post about DRL's.

Ther eis another one inside pass side kick panel.

There is a schematic on the back of the lid. Again ignore my henscratch.

I checked the DRL fuse last night. I couldnt even get the lights to go on when I wasnt using DRL and when I turned DRL off.

i will say that much stuff sounds like a BCM issue
                    but check fuses
                    bcm fuses
all lights fuses (drl, park lamp, any that dont work)

dont forget about the fuse box in the trunk if you have a test light thats the easiest way to check them attatch the one end to ground and touch both sides of the fuse if the light lights on both sides good fuse if it only lights on 1 side bad fuse

i would say your gonna wind up taking it though but check all those fuses and remember i think there2-3 fuses for the bcm
                    good luck keep us informed

Damn... that sucks... I've done my share of electrical work, ( used to do a lot of car audio) and never had anything like that. The strangest thing I have heard of until this is, some VWs blow a fuse when you change the speakers in the doors and it wont let the car start and throws a Electrical code. No shit. Seriously though, check and recheck all the fuses, it can be easy to miss a fuse( they are not always burned up or black, it can just be a small piece missing, if your having trouble seeing, get a continuity tester.) Also check the wiring harness on your battery, sure all the wires are connected.
I tried to think of something witty, but stopped.

the hard to tell thing is why i recomended a test light

but yeah check the harness at the bcm too if its easy

I think we may have a winner here. In the Corvette world where I came from, simliar issues to this was usually related to a faulty BCM.
