G6 gtp Brakes

Hey, Im considering an 07 gtp. Are the brakes any better than the Grand AM GT. My GA brakes were always week and mushy. Does anyone know if the GTP has Brake Assist ( i love that on other cars)?

The G6 GTP brakes are better than the Grand Am's. The G6 GTP has Traction Control and ABS.

The brakes are better than the Grand Am GT.

But the rotors are still kinda crappy - mine are starting to warp at 40,000 km. On my Grand Am, they started to vibrate at around 45,000 km and every 15,000 km after that.

Yes, all GTP models are equipped with Stabilitrak.

Its like an advanced traction control that is more about over all vehicle stability, think losing control of the vehicle entering a turn too quickly.

i bought it over the internet, and got it shipped here. I did my research so I didn't need a sales pitch.

I always wonder what that was! Back in February I drove home to South Dakota and hit a large patch of ice on the interstate and started sliding all over the rode!!! After not freaking out and slowly trying to pull myself out of it, the car fixed itself. It was a unreal feeling when it started working!

I believe because of the Stabilitrak, I stayed out of the ditch.

Are alot of newer cares doing this?

Yes but each manufacturer calls it something differant. I think GM wants to make it standard on all vehicles in the next few years.

gm is supposed to have it standard on all SUV's for 07 and cars by 2011. Its an awsome feature. According to NHTSA data it reduces single vehicle accidents by 35%.

Most manufacturers simply call it Electronic Stability Control. It's pretty nifty, had it kick it a few times while I was screwing around.
