Aux in port on front of Sirius dock

Has anybody had any experience using the aux in port on the front of the car dock? I just had my sportster 4 hardwired into my car and they told me I can use the front port to plug my ipod into it but I haven't tried it yet. I still need to dig the little rubber thing out of the port before I can plug it in.

I was just curious to see if anyone has used it.
