    Water Pump Replacement

    WELL..

    This is gonna suck... but while I'm at it.. I might as well.. I am going to be replacing the water pump over the weekend and I might as well take pics and create a how-to while I'm at it.


    Can anyone think of anything I should snap pics of while I have it nearly all apart? Tips suggestions would go a long way. Looks like I should be able to get to it.. but I haven't tried yet.

    Poniac and water pumps don't get along. Good luck Please note where it bolts on at and proper gasket placement would be good.

      I would put a little extra sealant around it. After my first replacement it started leaking through the gasket. Put some sealer on the second time and it has been fine since.

        "Bosch 96040 New Water Pump" ordered last night from Amazon. Will be here tomorrow..

            After finding out how easy it was to replace.. i neglected this.. SORRY!

            I THINK i have pictures.. however it is just really straight forward..




            Pull the belt, remove the old pump (3 or 4 bolts)

            clean mating surfaces on the block

            thin layer of RTV on each side of gasket, place pump, tighted bolts to ~18ft-lbs (iirc the number is really in in-lbs) , and replace belt
