  • Paddle Shifters

Has anyone ever heard of adding paddle shifters to an automatic car? The only ones I have seen were factory installed, and I always had an interest in them. It shouldn't be too hard to install them, hard part is just finding out how to tie it in with the transmission while in tapshift mode.

if it was possible, The Aura has them I think, so it probably could be done. Easy? I really doubt it.

I'm going to refrain from being sarcastic here.

The electrical shouldn’t be too hard, its building a rig that will fit on to the steering wheel.

I hear its very easy... some guys are building these things for other cars at a very low cost. Everything is done electrical. I think this would be perfect for people with sport-shift. mmm

I'll see if I can find some more info on this subject...

Instead of Building a rig, why not just use the Aura's

Believe it or not that is in essence the same system used on the corvette. This should be something available on the G6 in the future based on what they told the dealers.

Paddle shifters are cool, but I can never get used to them. Push to upshift, pull to downshift always seemed a little bit like it was backwards to me. I'd rather have the right hand be pull to upshift and the left hand be pull to downshift.

Well what about the ones that use 2 paddles, using 1 would be pretty gay.

The ones in the Aura, Grand Prix, etc. have two paddles, but both have the exact same function. Push to upshift, pull to downshift.

I was meaning like the ones where the right is upshift and down is downshift. Or maybe it's the other way around.

Yea, those I'd like. The ones GM uses are weird though.

Yeah the way they do it doesn't make a lot of sense. That's GM though.
