you need to lift up the car and unbolt it from the header/downpipe and unhook it from everywhere else.

        this!
it's a POS to do especially if you have rust on bolts. besides they don't charge you much at exhaust shops.

          Re: How to-exhaust

disregard the ladies in here. There are 2 bolts connecting the exhaust by the flex pipe and from there you should just spray some WD-40 on the hangers to remove the exhaust easily. From there hook up your new stuff and enjoy the new sound.

In the event you are creating your own and can weld just chop out the old and weld in the new mufflers and pipe

when i did mine, i used two cans of WD-40 and bolts still not coming off. ended up using a heat gun.

                Re: How to-exhaust

Did you get the bolt on system or the clamp on system?

                This one #16876: http://www.carid.com/2008-pontiac-g6...LAID=502373835

                or

                This one #16760: http://autoshepherd.com/magnaflow-16...t-systems.html

If you bought the first one, you need to get a chain cutter, jack stands (or ramps) and a pipe expander.
If you bought the second one, you need a wrench and a 5/8ths socket for the exhaust clamps.

Haha what are the chances you're the one to comment, and it wasn't that bad at all actually. Rented everything from Napa and O'Reilly's.
