  • My Blue Panther...... (1st post updated 1-6-07)

Been wanting to take some pics for awhile and just got a new camera........
First for who is curious a little about my car......

Named my car the Blue Panther
    GTP 3900 Automatic
Estimated BHP and torque with mods 258HP 264 LBS torque
Best 0-60 run with friend in car with stop watch 5.987, average 6.0-6.2
Never been to the track for 1/4mile, hoping to between now and spring.
Keep car waxed with Meguires Carnauba and Tech Wax.
    Also garage kept :P

To conform the BHP and Torque it will be getting dynoed in a few weeks and dyno tune on top of it. But told 15 HP and 19 torque at wheels was pick up so I added 20% of those numbers to come up with the base numbers

    Mods

    GM strut bar
    Tune Time ECM/TCM tune
    K & N pannel filter
Two tone painted calipers blue and silver (Thanks Seth for the sugestion and dupli-color )
Painted under the hood, Mobil 1 factory fill sticker and Mobil 1 oil cap, Dr speed airbag cover GTP/G6 sun visor overlay, silver pontiac overlay on steering wheel.

    Near Future Hopes/Mods

Dyno Tune to push PCM tune farther in a few weeks
Ram Air Hood with active air box
    3" outlet exhaust tips
    NO MORE LS2 tires!

    Brembo brake package

That's awesome! I've been thinking about painting my strut bar and now I might have to do it.

      The brakes look great!

Pics look awesome Andre, looks very glossy.

Try layering the nuba over the tech wax, gives amazing results. Unless you did that already

Very nice! Engine bay looks great. Question about painting the strut bar...did you sand off or do anything to it before you sprayed it? It's very glossy the way it comes, and I know the paint has a hard time sticking to the surface.

                Awesome

I used to wipe mine down all the time, but now that it is winter here it's pretty much useless. Come spring I'll have some swirls and crap to get rid of, all I do in the meantime is throw on sealant to battle it out with the winter elements.

Thanks! I didnt even primer it accally. I just primered the plastic air intake tube. On the strut bar I used Rust-Oleum Specialty, Metallic "1915 Silver Mettllic" - is the code. Its for Shiny metallic look on wood, metal and more the can says. I used it as a base as the first coat over the bar, I found that Rust-Oleum sticks to vertally any and everything real well that why I used it. Then Dupli-Color Metalcast, "MC201 Blue Anodized" (code) as my top coat to finish to off to bring back a glossy looks with still the metalic sliver showing through.

I know exactly what you mean, luckly my car has a garage I can keep it in to keep it cleaned up. Other then that there isnt much you can do in the winter...... Winter and car is I hate so much when my car turns white esp when it snows and salt is on the road...... Cant wipe it off either, have to wait to wash it off

Nice! I'd toss the license plate bracket, unless you are supposed to have a plate on there.
