ok so since my 08 GT got totalled by a snow plow, i had to go home to MI and get my 09 GXP poor thing barely had 1k on her when i went to get her from home and now in 2 weeks has 5k on her anyways, i had to put a block heater in my GT since it didnt come with one, and of course the one for the 3.6 is VERY different and VERY expensive.......my gxp didnt come with one either and i never got one for it as i never intended to have to drive it in the winter anyways......well now that i have to driv it in montana in the winter i need one, went to the dealership as oreillys or napa dont have them listed for the 3.6 and the dealership wanted $280 just for the block heater and cord.......no the less that at least gave me the part numbers and diagram for it, so i ordered one from GM parts direct for $215 shipped, and my question is,
As far as i can tell from the diagram and pics of one installed in a 3.6 engine for sale, it just pops into a deep recessed hole and is held in place by a clip, no freeze plug or threaded plug like my 3.5 had watsoever, if thats all i have to do is pop it into place and run the cord looks like it will be the easiest block heater install ever, i unbolted the coolant tank and set it to the side, kneeled on the engine and i can feel the hole it goes in right below the back head right next to where the transmission bolts up........
just lookin for confirmation if anyone knows that is exactly how it installs........
