Just got the Gentex auto dim mirror with compass.
It was really easy like the others have said before. Only 2 wires.
Just remove the old mirror. It's a Torx #20 screw, Slide the mirror up. Take the new mirror and slide it onto the windshield button, Tighten the screw. Take the wire and run it up into the headliner. There should be a hole already there.
I ran the wires down the passenger side. Take out one screw (Torx #15) and remove the pillar. Just be careful. There are 2 clips also holding it in.
Down by the footwell, There were 2 10MM bolts that have other wires grounded to them. (Just pull the rug and padding up a bit and you will see them.) I used one of these since the wire harness that came with the gentex mirror was not long enough to reach the Fuse box area.
I spliced some more wire for the power and used a wire tap to connect to a thick green cable. (this is the one that turns on and off with the ignition.) (there are 2 other green wires. Its the biggest one.)
To calibrate the mirror, Just hold down the compass button for 3 seconds, you should be able to change the zone. Pick the # that corresponds to your zone and then drive in circles a few times. Thats all you have to do.
