Engine shock dampener

Hey Yall, anyone else with a 6-speed G6 have problems with your engine moving all over america when you decelerate/accelerate? I am a machinist and i'm thinking of making brackets/mounts to put one on my car for a winter project. If all goes well i'll make a bunch up and sell them. I'm thinking of just using the shock from any ingalls or gready engine dampener kit. Any input on what dampener would be best to use to base this off of?

I have no idea what would be best, but if you find a solution definately post it / sell it up here. It drives me completely mad to have my car bouncing all over the place as I'm decelerating in 2nd or even accelerating in first.

Oh, second thing. Aren't they called engine mounts?

You mean like polyurithane engine mounts? I dont think anyones gonna make them for owr cars anytime soon. I'm gonna make a bracket to mount the dampener to the engine and then one to the casiss of the car hopefully if everyting goes right. Well we already have one of those dampeners installed at the front of the engine. I think that the thing is what is causing the jerkiness.

I HATE the mounts too.. They need to be solid.

I did not see one, where is there supposed to be one Tom? The cobalt SS's have one from the factory but we just got crappy rubber mounts.

I think i'm gonna order the kit next week and the it might take a while to develop someting to get it to go in the propper placement for one. I have to do reaserch to see whats the best spot too. So i'm not in too much of a hurry, i'm gonna do it right or not do it at all. Its gonna be a winter project.

So, this thing would stop my car from acting like a mechanical bull in first and second, especially when I let off the gas?

A solid one will, yes. We already have one like in the link posted above. Sherman, look underneath your air box and you'll see it.

OHHH dam i'm blind, lol. Well GM didn't probably put a very good one on there. Now that i know the brackets are pretty much there its gonna be a sinch to put a better aftermarket on on!!! The one thats on there looks realy cheap....

yeah, the thing is way too loose for a 6 speed with this kind of torque. One of the many things that reveal this car wasn't designed to be a manual...

Well i just ordered the stillen dampener so. once I get it I will start work on modifying it. I'll keep you guys upddated on the progress
