Added 3 way 6.5" up front, disconnect stock tweeters?

I added some new 3 way 6.5" speakers up front, should I disconnect my stock tweeters? Seems overkill to have them when I have 3 ways in the doors now....

new speakers response is 65Hz - 20kHz

Bad idea. You should have bought some 6.5 components. It would sound so much better.

wasn't in the budget.... so i should not disconnect ther factory tweeters? are they that good?

kinda yah.... Just seems like the highs are to high. the stock tweeters seem to be adding to much to the overall sound.

even with the sub? how do the speakers sound when turned up? do they get distorted? what did the speakers run you?

All the speakers i put in sound fine and no distortion, the front speakers i installed have a 1/2 tweeter for mids and dual piezo tweeters for the highs. So like the stock tweeters seems to be duplicating what the new speakers are putting out. At the volume i am at usually i have to turn the highs to about +1 on my deck. the range is +6 to -6... The lows are at like 5 or 6 and mids at 2. Plus everything i have is running off my deck.

can anyone suggest a decent set of components where the tweeters would fit decent in the sail panels on the doors?

No speakers in the budget right now, plus i need a set that would work well off the stock deck.

I am gonna try disconnecting the stock one then if it sound worse i will hook em back up.

i just put in some 6.5 2-way i replace the oem tweeters wit some one inch ones that i got for parts express when they had one in Dayton btw the highs sounded crisps i would keep them in till get the chance to upgrade them
