^you need to polish them with very fine polish. They now sell kits in the headlight sections of most local auto parts stores for 10-20 bucks which includes the polish and the sponge pad for a drill

when I color matched my eyelids I just used normal Dupli Color rattle can. never heard the toothpaste. just mid grade sandpaper and sand the chrome till it turns gray like primer then sling the paint on.sigpic

When i had painted my lights, I used Krylon paint cans. Sanded it down, primed it once, added 2 coats of gloss black, then finished it off with 2 coats of clear. Came out awesome!! They used toothpaste on the Trucks Episode Today and it worked as good as Buffing Compound they compared it to.
