    Pontiac to Come Back in Canada

    A good friend of mine who's in a fairly senior position at GM Canada told me tonight that GM Canada will be announcing tomorrow that they intend to bring back the Pontiac brand in Canada next year in a limited run to see what market response will be. If the response is encouraging it's likely that the US will see the return the following year. Up here we'll see a slightly modified G6 as well as the G8. The G6 will probably have mostly subtle appearance changes but there could be an upgrade of the 3.6. When I pestered him about the engine improvement he simply said they would be trying to squeeze an extra 30 hp, so torque will likely go up as well. That could be a flyer. Lucky us! I have him tapped to help put me on an early buyers list.
