  • Changing plugs on 3.9 a olympic event?

    so i was gonna check my plugs today and i could get to the front but how the hell do you get the plugs in the rear? has anyone on here changed there own plugs before

      noo make me miss my firebird where i could stand inside the engine bay! lol i can barley fit my big hand between the firewall and the back of the motor

        I'm with ya on that. I had 2 T/A's and a firebird.

            ha well guess a swivel attachment and hours of cursing in about to happen

              A swivel head ratchet and laying on the intake manifold! FWD cars SUCK when it comes to doing maintance on them, RWD FTW

                and the 3900 must be a much bigger motor than the lx9 because the back plugs are easy for me.

                  wear mechanic's gloves when you do it.. getting the wires off can be a blood spilling experience..

                    yhe one next to the alternator is a bitch the metal piping ull see can come off of the hook and u can slide it over

                        1. With the car cool, remove the engine from the car.
                        2. change plugs
                        3. install engine
                        3a. Pray that the install is successful
                        4. Start Engine
                        5. Curse yourself on purchasing a hard as hell to work, with no aftermarket support engine

                        Be sure to use the right plugs, use some antiseize on the threads, and silicone grease on the boots, and DO NOT OVERTORQUE the plugs!!!

                            I miss my 85 Chevy truck! You could put a lazy boy inside the hood and work on it! lol
