  • Best radar detector for under $150?

ive been reading up on the site, seems like its beltronics so far and that cobra doesnt really work that well... ive been ticketed 2 too many times and i need somethign that will consistently work, not looking for fancy text displays and voice alerts, just one that will tell me when theres pigs nearby.

    input is appreciated

do the speed limit, or jus 5 over...that'll prolly help, not to mention save your life or someone elses or save you some money.

I have a Whistler pro 58 (I think? lol) My fiance got it for me for xmas. Im not a huge radar fan and only go 5 over max but its a cool little gadget to have. I hardwired mine into the car so its pretty convenient

unless you're on 45 (which you're probably familiar with)

but you might be able to find a good deal on craigslist.

Depends on which part of 45, down by the island no way, DPS is out all over lately, Galveston Sheriffs too. I never speed below Webster.

But you know how it is in Houston, you gotta add 20 to the speed limit just to keep up wif everyone

A used Valentine One radar detector would be your best bet. It is the best unit out there but expensive if purchased new. You get what you pay for with radar detectors. Check out P-Bay or Craigs list for a used one.

They dont work, they only let you know a cop is around if he leaves his radar activated non stop. They turn them on and off. Dont waste your money.

radar detector = false sense of security

also it was a fad, now we just do 5 over and call it good

^you can add the GPS to most newer Cobras for pretty cheap, they have a port on the side of them. Not sure if that model you have is built in or not but I don't think I've seen that for cobras-only Escort
