What could have been. Split grille and everything, it's just screaming that it wants to be a Pontiac.

I need to move to Australia.

I need to move to Australia.

If this whole Obama thing goes much further, I will!

If I ever leave the country I've decided that I will go to Australia mainly for this reason. Muscle cars never went out of fashion down there so most of their cars are still RWD V8.

If I ever have a G8 it's gonna get one of those front bumpers!

Pretty daym sexy..
only thing that bother me is it looks more like a BMW than the G8 already did because of the chrome lip on the grille and thier round logo above it

This is old news, but very cool cars Holden and HSV makes.

Yea, those E2's are about 65,000 AUD and shipping would probably be around 10 g's.

02-07-2010, 12:46 PM
so after exchange rates.. thats about $65,000 USD :nikki:

Given an M5 is US$85000, I'd say it's the deal of the century. These babies are probably all faster than it.

Rofl. I went over to Holden's site and was looking at Commedores. Look up a "Ruu bar"  It's a option availalbe on the Commedore... basically a super heavy duty brush guard that used to keep the car safe from smacking into a Kangaruu.

Holden cars have are amazing, I wish they would just import them As-Is and sell them here under the Holden brand. My coworker goes back to Australia for good on the 14th. He should put me in some luggage and smuggle me over there.

02-07-2010, 09:13 PM
Yea it would be nice but unfortunately looks like they are not approved to be imported for us DOT omissions. and it might cost much more to get converted.. unless you smuggle them ;)

What about as CKDs with no engines... when the arrive drop an LS9 in it. :calvin:

02-07-2010, 11:34 PM
why an ls9?

02-07-2010, 11:48 PM
they are also right-hand-drive.. wrong side of the car...

02-08-2010, 01:17 AM
That actually doesn't mean anything. In the United States it's NOT illegal to have a right hand drive car. Cars are just supposta be left hand drive. Yes, there's a ton of rings you have to jump through to get it registered and inspections (Lights, etc), but it's easy. A company here in CT does importing of JDM Suburu's and have a bunch of Right hand drive STi's at their shop here in Windsor Locks..

02-08-2010, 02:13 AM
I don't see why our cars aren't right hand drive to begin with. think about it. how often do you have a passenger in the car? others have the same chance probably. and since you drive on the right side of the road with oncoming traffic to the left, a collision with oncoming traffic would mean empty space vs empty space.

02-08-2010, 07:19 AM
why an ls9?
638 hp, that's why. The HSV E2 GTS does ~435 hp (325 kW).

As for the RHD issue... might I remind you that the Holden Commodore is also sold in Middle East as the Lumina in LHD. So LHD conversions would be easy.
