  • Changing plugs already at 60,000 miles

Gettin the plugs changed in my car and the car only has maybe 60,000 miles on it, and they look almost wore out, there is very little of the iridium tip left and my car has been gettin hard on fuel. Hopefully it makes a difference. It was unreal to see the shape of them, but new ones go in friday afternoon. 86 for 6 plugs.

What do you mean already? The normal lifetime of normal spark plugs is 45,000 miles.
    Of course they'd look destroyed.

These are acdelco iridium's and GM says they are suppose to last 100,000 miles.

If a Chip claimed to give you 40hp would you believe it?

I always thought 100k would be pushing it. What's the best plugs out these days, and I'm guessing it would be better to just pay someone to install them?

Actually it does. GM was being compared as if it were one of those fly-by-night ebay companies, which it is clearly not. They designed the car and parts to go in it. Dont you think they might know what they are talking about. I didnt say 100k is when you should change them. It is just a suggestion given. They can also be replaced as needed.

Why do you drive a GM if you say "Like gm is even that reliable" ?

If the plugs need to be replaced, then replace them.

I just hit 90K, and they are still as good as ever. I took them out around 75k for a check, and they looked fine.

Did you get the same plugs to replace them? If not, what kind?

mine are in need of new plugs soon as well. b4 i left for class in MT i cleaned out my intake and Throttle and checked the plugs which could use some new ones. was thinking of possible replaceing the spark plug wires with some from MSD. i found some NGK V power spark plugs online and was wondering if thos would be ok to use or what is a good plug to put in, other than the ACDelco's?
