They make a special cleaning spray for that type of thing that is safe on electronic sensors. You should be able to find it at the auto parts store.

Re: Cleaning Mass Air Flow sensor........

I picked up a can of "Mass Air Flow Sensor" cleaner (original, huh?), and am doing my MAF right now. Just a heads up. On the can it says to clean your MAF every time you wash any kind of washable air filters, or any time you replace an air filter. I had never heard of this? Anyway, I'll let you know if I can feel any difference behind the pedal tomorrow. I hope I can, cuz I can't think of any other reason for her to be running so sluggish lately...........

No, it wouldn't pull up on my dinosaur computer, lol. I googled it, and found out about MAF sensor cleaner...... I just put it all back together, but gotta wait for the filter to dry.......

Re: Cleaning Mass Air Flow sensor........

Well, the car is definitely running a lot better. I can really feel a difference behind the pedal now; basically how she was driving before the air filter oil issue. LOL, the can of MAF cleaner says give 4-10 h.p at the wheels, but I think that's just a little bit far fetched..... All in all though, I recommend anyone running any kind of modded or aftermarket intake to clean their MAF sensor. Especially those of us running ram air/snorkels...........

No problem! The can of cleaner cost $6 and some change; and it was definitely worth the money/time/little bit of effort to do it. I put my K&N drop in in the day I got the car. Literally left the dealership, and picked up the filter and a can of adhesive remover to debadge. I've had my ram intake for almost a year now, and in hind sight I should have cleaned the MAF a LONG time ago!
