  • wheel locks question

ok everyone. first, i know, the screenname needs changed

i just bought a 2006 silver gt coupe, and want to get some wheel locks, and splash guards.

im going nowhere else besides gmpartsdirect for my stuff, and need a little help. my gt had the 17" chrome wheels on it, but i had the dealer take them off and install the 17" alum. alloys (5star). there are 3 different part numbers on gmpartsdirect, and i need to know which to get. i emailed customer service, but thought also to post here, maybe some of you have them.

second, the splash guards. i see two different ones. some cheap "flat with contour guards", and some molded guards. the molded are 75$ for the set, and the flats are about 40$. im thinking about the molded for a nicer look, but again, anyone who has either, opinions appreciated!!!

thanks everyone for looking. im working on a new screenname, but i have to name the car first and go from there

lastly, I LOVE MY NEW CAR

McGard also has M12x1.5 wheel locks and they work great, very good quality. Dunno if that helps you or not

The molded gaurds look better, there are some people with them on here just have to find them.

Also all those part numbers for the wheel locks turn into 2 part numbers, all the different ones were replaced by 2. I don't know what the diff on the 2 are but ask the service dept and you'll be golden from there!

I had the molded guards put on about a month ago... I think they look really good. (If you are gonna get it done at a dealer, make sure they don't half ass it... and try to attach them without removing your wheels or something)

Check the link in my sig... you should be able to find some good pictures of them.

and nothing wrong with your user name... chevy still rules :smoke:

thanks for the pix beit! i had already decided to go with the molded ones. usually the more expensive stuff is always the ticket!

and for wheel locks, i Emailed gmparts, they got back to me, and ill be ordering tonight.

the email was real plain they sent back though, just part numbers i need, but thats ok.

thanks! im taking some g6 pics today and postin them!

Saw your pics, and that is pretty close to what I ordered. What percent did you go with on your tint? Thanks!

the best wheel locks i have ever seen were 7 sided lug nuts instead of the usual 6 sided ones. they didn't have that "i'm a wheel lock" look that stands out with exposed lug nuts. you really had to be paying attention to tell they weren't regular lug nuts which i really liked. if i got wheel locks that is what i would get for mine.

Yeah I've seen some of those, a friend of mine has 9 sided ones. They look pretty weird.
