Cleaned my engine for the first time

I've been meaning to do this for about 83,000 miles
I used Gunk Foamy Engine Brite Engine Degreaser. Here's the before and after:



It took me three applications, but I think I done did good

Nice...looks good.

I usually clean up the plastic covers and surrounding plastic with Armor-all any time I do a serious cleaning of my car. Helps keep them nice and shiny . I also hit the mirrors and other plastic body parts to help keep them protected.

Thats funny, when my option 4 came at work, my boss got it and asked me if I got crabs.

looks good. I've never looked into washing my engine - I should tho...Canadian winters are ridiculous. Anything I should know before tackling this?

looks good, a clean engine is a happy engine. i just did the same thing about a week ago. i used scrubbing bubbles and a pressure washer

Nope, just follow 08blackgt's great post:

Although, I followed the instructions on the cleaner, and I think 08blackgt does his with a warm (not hot!) engine.
After applying the spray, I waited 15 minutes, and then gently sprayed it off. But, that didn't seem to work very well
So, I applied the spray again, except, this time a wiped everything with a cloth and then sprayed it off. That worked very well, except, once it dried, you could clearly see the spots I missed (they were still dirty)
So, I applied it a third time, and made sure I wiped everything, and I think it looks pretty good.

I would never use a pressure washer, but, whatever works

haha, i didnt use the pencil tip spray, jus a mild spray. more pressure then the garden hose but using less water
