  • Fuel Cleaners

I have noticed lately the 6 has a hard time starting up, I smell this bad exhaust after it starts up. I there a good brand of fuel injection cleaners? Is it safe to use on the 6?

Lucas Oil Brand. We use them on our trucks at work.

Or just use a good Top Tier Gas. I've been using Shell since the day I got my license (Premium to be specific).... a whole 9 years...

I only use Shell too, but low grade. lol premium is too expensive, but it looks thats what my 6 will need to eat from now on.
Thanks I will try that Lucas product, at 82K Kms its time to put the expensive stuff.

Grab a can of SeaFoam and run it through the gas tank. Premium isn't a good choice unless your car is tuned for taking premium gas.

93 won't hurt your car in anyway, but is totally not needed unless tuned for it... and yeah, it can get expensive. Out of the 3 vehicles I have, including the G6, they share 502+k miles. Not one has seen any thing but premium, and not one fuel related problem has hapened.

Whatever you car manuel says should be good, honestly. Drop in some of that Lucas or Seafoam and take it out on the highway.

Have you also thought about your fuel filter? Or maybe you got a bad batch of gas.

              Re: Fuel Cleaners

How long is lately? A week or 2 on the same tank of gas? Like justham said, it could be a bad batch of gas or there could be water in it. You could pick up some gas additive at the local autozone or whatever and throw it in.
