has anyone ever used any headlight lens restoring products? and if so have they had any luck with them or not. Also which product did you use?

when there really bad they can help but theyve never been like perfect

adn im talking about the ones that polish those platci lights that are just gone line some of the mustangs adn neons do (i can think of them off hand). you shouldnt need to use anyof those yet though i wouldnt think

Macguires Plast-x makes them look like new but it only lasts a few days, in other words, its only worth using if your going to a small show/meet or trying to sell.

The best there is, aside from a professional doing it. In my opinion at least.

Used it on my Sonoma, and it was just magic. Lasted about a year, and they still look better than how they were.

The kit is pretty simple. Takes about 10 min for each lens.

wet sand both directions with fine grit, then use plastx

there are several how-tos on the internet, i helped a friend do his yellow ones back to clear with this method

I heard that toothpaste works, specificaly Pearl Drops. They have an abrasive in them that will polish the lens till it's clear although the myheadlight.com kit looks real good also.

The kit is the way to go. Its a CHAMP!

Sanding and scratchx don't really solve the problem. That kit takes it one step further and has a liquid that, for a lack of a better term, melts the plastic. Allowing the plastic lens to smooth itself out.

We have a kit we use at work made my bg products. It works pretty good as well.

I bought some lens restorer and it just moved the crazing to the edges of wherever
I was working.

thanks for all the replies I went with the crystal view kit from advanced auto it worked great on my fogs and made them look even better than when I bought the car

i wet sanded the lights on my truck with 2000 grit and clear coated them.. they look amazing compared to the nasty dark yellow shit that built up on them..

tooth paste applied with news paper works every time (just plain old white tooth paste)
