If you havent ran fuel injector cleaner you should, nothing worse then getting a CEL and spending 400 dollars on a fuel injector flush at a mechanic because never ran fuel injector cleaner in your tank every 5K miles that costs like 5 dollars.

Are you really supposed to run a bottle of injection cleaner that often? I was under the impression that continuous use of injection cleaner was actually damaging?

No, you wont damage anything. What you are talking about is alot of the older fuel injector cleaners use to use containing methanol or other strong solvents and that would damage parts over time. Today to my knowledge no main name injector cleaners use any of those ingredents. Just running it too often becomes a waste of money. Some products claim every 3K miles other 5K mils. I run a bottle on my vechiles every 10K miles.

Re: 40,000 miles, What should i do?

If you want to be really thorough, try the following:

              - Trans Fluid Flush
              - Fuel Injector Cleaner
              - Fuel Filter Replacement
              - Clean/Replace Air Filter
              - Clean MAF Sensor
              - Clean Throttle Body
              - Replace Spark Plugs
              - Replace Muffler Bearings

Make sure you keep up on those oil changes (with the filter changed EVERY oil change). Is your alignment still ok? Coolant still clean?

Other than that, you should be ok if your tires and brakes are good.

This is very important. Also make sure to check your blinker fluid.
