  • Dupli-color brake caliper paint kit

    Brand: Dupli-color http://www.duplicolor.com/products/caliper.html
    Price: ~$15
    Purchased From: Advance Auto Parts

Installation: Medium (Easy if you know how to take your wheels off)
Installation Time: 3 hours (wheels off -> wheels on) including drying time
Any Installaton Tips You Have: The instructions on the box recommend cleaning the calipers with a tooth brush... go with sandpaper or something comparable. Also, have some thinner on hand to clean the brush in between coats. I recommend 3 coats.

    Quality of Part: 9
    Product Performance: 9
Would you Recommend to Others: Yes

Any Other Comments: The kit is fairly complete, paint/brush/cleaner/masking tape... like I said above, get some sandpaper and thinner. This is the second car I've used this kit on, not a bad look at all for under 20 bucks.

I used this kit today. It works pretty good. The packaging claims to have enough paint to do four calipers, but I still had over 3/4 of the can left after three coats on all four calipers.

The brush they give you, however, lasts about 2.5 calipers. The bristles starting falling off and sticking to the paint. It's pretty frustrating when you're trying to get a nice even coat, and all of a sudden there's a bristle suck in the paint that you have to pull out.

If it weren't for the cheapass brush I'd give this product a 10; as it were I'd give it a 9. Still a fantastic kit.

yeah i had over 3/4 can left over so i painted the ones on the gp too..... i would have had a lot of paint left over if my uncle hadent kicked the can over...... we had just driver sides done then had to drive to town to get more paint...... i also bought an art brush from the arts and crafts department at wal mart it worked great no brush marks really smooth... and the brisles didnt fall out..... but i would give it a 9 or 10
