  • Doing Dyno pulls

    On a coupe GTP auto

I usually pull in 3 gear in manual cars..... never on a newer lockup trannys so.... what the recommended gear for correct numbers?

Found a place that does dyno tunes. very cheap..so lets see how much power I can squeeze out and properly compare stock vs Vector pcm.

Too bad that my Vector PCM is locked... would be nice to tweak some numbers within.

Some dynos don't care what gear you're in. But if you're on a dyno that does, you want to do the pull in the gear that is as close to 1:1 aa possible.

And looking at our FSM that gear will be 3rd.....right?

My goals is to get some real numbers from my car, as of now, I only have a tune, but want to get before and after numbers in order to compare.

Will do a dyno run...probably this friday or saturday...
My car is running extremely great lately so i want to check the numbers...dunno if the new fuel brand I am using could be the reason why...
Still have a little bit of knock when downshifting though

                    Re: Doing Dyno pulls

When I dynoed my car with my 93 octane tune (not vector, another companies) we took the car up to 50 mph (I beilve it was) then punched it in 3rd gear till its top 3rd gear speed of 128-ish, it was on a mustang dyno. DynoJet there is nothing to put in, IE wieght, HP at 50, number of cylinders or anything. Just hop on and run it. Dyno Jets trudidtionally runs higher then a mustang dyno. Dyno Jet ussally see about a 13-15% drop off from the crank and Mustang Dyno ussally around 18-20%.
