LED swap for the back third brake light

Ok...Found a 50 led back brake light off of Ebay (of all places!).
Just do a search for universal third brake light and you will see it.






I then dremel'd the housing so it fit in there.







I tucked the extra long wires into the now vacant bulb holes.






I took the old housing and snapped off the harness.




Then soldiered the wires to it....




Wrap it up!

Better than my 3 led bulbs.
Looks like I'll be pulling mine apart again. Then I can glue the shit out of it to stop rattles.

When searching for the LED bar, were you looking at any dimensions or light output specifically?

That looks good man. I have an extra third brake light from the 09.5 trunk I bought to get the spoiler, I might try this but I want some cool sedan taillights first.

When searching for the LED bar, were you looking at any dimensions or light output specifically?

I used the 11.5" X 1.181" one. Double row of 50 leds. If ya cant find it I can go look and post a link to one.
I just hate ebay links on here cause they dont last.

Thats it. The small post that hold the bracket can be cut off easy cheesy.

I prolly spent a good half hour dremmeling to get it to fit in the housing but its totally doable.
Just be patient and you can get the lens to snap down & fit flush on it.
