            • Re: Eagle Eyes Dual CCFL Halo Projector Headlights

I got my Eagle Eyes in black today. Got them installed quickly, putting an H7 HID bulb into each of them. Gotta say I'm quite impressed with the more even light spread compared to the H11 HID's in the regular reflector housings.

One of the CCFL's is having issues. At first it wasn't lighting up, and then the next time I checked it was lit, and then my friend told me it wasn't lit. I'm guessing it's some lose wiring. I'm hoping that I don't have to tear into that light to fix it.

I had to drill when installing them like everyone else. I found that when I was attempting to aim them the one bolt wasn't quite fitting through the hold I'd drilled, so it looks like I'm going to have to pull them out tomorrow to fix that. They were aimed way too low from the factory.

The cutoff is good, but there is a slight purple tint right at the edge of it. I'm guessing this is because I'm using 6000k HID's in a halogen projector.

Overall, I think I'm going to be very happy with these headlights.

You'll always have issues with the halos. The inverters are crap.

You're part of the 5% that hasn't had issues lol. A ton of people, including me, have had issues with the CCFL halo setup.

The fact that one halo in the headlight is working and the other one is intermittent is pointing to a wiring issue more than anything else, but I may end up getting some spare inverters for the future.

Using HIDs in the Eagle Eyes projector, which only properly supports halogen bulbs, will cause glares upon oncoming drivers and people you're following on the road. They will also have improper light output with HIDs.
I'd like to address this. There is absolutely zero glare below the cutoff line using these projectors with HID bulbs. The only issue I've noticed is a slight purple tint at the cutoff, but otherwise they're great with HIDs.

Yeah, I'd like to take back what I said about the cutoff. I took the opportunity to try it out when a customer of mine accidentally sent a pair of H7 bulbs to retrofit in an H1 projector and it's actually decent. No glare or anything, surprisingly. The only issues are the beam pattern isn't very wide because it's a halogen projector and the cutoff's hotspot is off-center. It's not bad for being an aftermarket "eBay" sort of headlight.

Yeah, that sounds like a wiring issue, but I'm just saying the inverter will go out sooner or later (usually in a few months).

I'll agree with the last two bits. The hotspot is a little off center and the beam pattern isn't as wide as I'd like.
