  • Disabled Door

Hey guys. Since winter hit here, in Michigan, I noticed the rear passenger door starting to act funny when locking and unlocking. At first it would only unlock/lock when it felt like it, same thing with the windows. Now, that spring is nearing I took a look at it and it's boggling me. The window nor the power locks work on the passenger rear door.

The fuse is not blown, all of the other doors work and I don't think there is individual fuses for each door. The first thing that comes to mind is no power to the door, loose/broken wires along the rubber boot. I took the boot apart and everything looks good there. There is a cool connector at the hinge, did not know this. I tried testing each wire but I couldn't find the voltage or the signal wires. CRUISIN, mind sending me a wiring diagram of this harness, if you are reading this.

I am not sure what else there is that I can check. Anyone got any ideas?

    Re: Disabled Door

Red and Orange wires are usually HOT and black is usually Ground, so I would check those wired first.

      Re: Disabled Door

Update: The window switch got bad on the rear passenger side. That window switch being bad wouldn't let me lower the window from the driver side. Strange system. If you can't lower a window, check the switch first, swap them.

The reason the door lock wouldn't work is the power lock actuator, it's bad.

Two separate problems but happened at about the same time, strange. But that's what was going on. Hopefully it helps someone in the future.
