New to the forum, just got my g6 about 3 months ago, and looking to add the remote start feature to my car, the dealer didn't give me the rke to the car, told me it didn't have one, after I did some looking in the glove box I found the original window sticker and low and behold it had rke, so I bought a remote from auto zone and programed it to the car, after that I've been searching on here and other pontiac forums on how to activate it and learned that it's a dealer only thing / kit you need to buy, I don't have the ap8 or ap3 on my rpo list, but do have the hood latch and the plus on my key, I was doing some searching on the rke receiver that was in my car part number 15912630 and when I got online and looked up gm parts it said it was the remote start receiver, (gmpartsdirect) and a couple other ones on Google, my question is can I get the dealer to program it without having to by the kit or spending a lot to get it done, already have the remote start rke and programed to the car just no remote start, how would I go about telling the dealer to do this

Do you have the Remote start enabled/disable in the Info menu on your radio? That will tell you if it is active. When you press lock twice, then hold the Remote start button, does your car do anything?2007 Pontiac G6 3.5L V6 | 1998 BMW Z3 DinanComment

No :-/ I need to get the car programed to do it, my dealer told me that I would have to pay for a kit and get it programed, I did some searching on the rcdlr and found out it was also the remote start module, due to the part number off the rcdlr, I don't want to spend 300 dollars if the car already has it in it plus I already have a remote with the start button on it, just don't work, my question is can someone verify the part number (gm 15912630) and to make sure it had the remote start on it, so I can just tell my dealer I don't have to buy this kit and to just program my car after purchasing the vcim codeComment
